What is a Share House?
For those of you that have never done a share house before, this will give you an idea of what to expect.  First of all it’s called a share house because that is exactly what we do.  As a group we come together and share a house for a season.  It is a unique experience, a great way to meet new friends and have fun with people with the same interests (in this case skiing and riding).

People join a share house so they can enjoy a really great place to stay without having to pay for it by themselves while at the same time meeting great people.  The share price gives you access to the house and all it’s amenities.  You will sleep in a bedroom with usually 2 but sometimes 3 beds.  Your share price will get you 1 bed not the room unless you buy more than one share.  Everyone is free to use all the common area.

Share groups will often ski together and socialize at clubs and bars together but there is no requirement to do so.  It’s great to go to the mountain and always know someone.  Some people join share houses because they are avid skiers and riders and some join just for the social and meeting people opportunities.  We always have mixed ability levels so even those just learning will have others to ski with.

Our share price charged covers most expenses including utilities, local phone, firewood, snow plowing, cable TV, garbage removal.  Many other share houses charge additionally for that.

Our kitchen is fully equipped and if you feel like cooking please do so.  Most share houses are not very big or nice because to the owners it’s just rental property.  We are fortunate to have an unusually attractive and very well appointed house.

The personality and character of the house are determined by the people in it but we always have all kinds of fun and by the end of the season you’ve usually made some very good friends as well.  We have even had couples that met at our house that later married.

A typical day will include skiing then Après-ski at a club or bar, back to the house, dinner and then an evening out.  There are many other things to do besides skiing.  There is snowmobile, snowshoeing, tubing, movies, and horseback riding.  Or you can rent a movie make popcorn and have a quiet evening in front of one of our fireplaces.  The choice is always yours.
